On the Sixth Day of Fitmas: STEER CLEAR

On the sixth day of FITMAS, my personal trainer gave to meeeeeeeeeee.....

6 plank jack push ups


4 knee tucks

3 star crunches

2 minute wall sit

and a 1 minute plank near the treeeeeeee. 

You are NOT Santa Clause, I'm sorry to tell you that, but you do not need to stop at every house and eat all of the cookies. While this may not be an issue at home, the workplace can sometimes become a problem during the holidays, whether it's because people give food and unhealthy dishes as a way to say thanks - you know what I'm talking about, boxes of doughnuts, containers of chocolate, and cookies, and all of the in between - OR your coworkers went on a baking spree and have decided to take the temptations out of their own house and into your break room. I get it, your will power is not strong enough to resist, especially during the holidays. So you find yourself mindlessly reaching for that 4th cookie. You don't really want it, but you find yourself reaching for it anyways. 

Do yourself and your body a favor, if you can't stop at 1, STEER CLEAR of the break room! Pack a healthy lunch, several healthy snacks, and plenty of water so that when you see someone bring in homemade brownies, you can grab your equally delicious and filling snack, or drink a big glass of water because you might not even be hungry. Try not to just eat it because it's there. You can also bake healthier versions of your favorite desserts and bring that in - don't tell your coworkers they're healthy, and I bet they won't even notice! 

It's okay to enjoy a cookie every once in awhile - heck, I had one last night (!) - but if you know you can't control yourself, then there's no reason to put yourself in that situation. 

Just LUNGE away! 

When you get home from work complete your FITMAS workout and then make the salted chocolate protein shake below. This recipe is sure to satisfy your sweet cravings! Then give yourself a pat on the back or a high five for resisting all the temptations at work! 


Salted Chocolate Protein Shake


  • 1 cup almond milk 
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 scoop protein
  • 4 dates
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1/2 tsp salt


1. Add all of the ingredients in blender & blend. 

2. Pour into a glass, and add a few ice cubes, and enjoy.
